ProjectX allows you to cut MPEG files (e.g. remove the advertisement). It has has a build-in preview mode of the movie, so it's easy to set the cut marks. It's also possible to save the cut marks into a file and to reload them if needed. This is a special ProjectX version for OS/2 with support for files > 2g.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. Edit projectx.cmd according to your Java environment. See below for download link(s).
