A note about the future of ecsoft2.org

ecsoft2.org runs on software (Drupal 7 and PHP 7.4) that reached its end of life years ago and no longer receives security updates. Keeping the site online safely is getting harder.

Giving it a future means migrating it to a current platform — and that is only worth doing if people still use it and want to help keep it alive.

If you care about ecsoft2.org, as a user, a contributor, or someone willing to lend a hand, please ggambatiscali [dot] it (get in touch) by January 31, 2027.

If no one comes forward by then, the site will be turned into a read-only archive, so that its content stays available.

SIP is a tool for generating bindings for C++ classes so that they can be accessed as normal Python classes. SIP takes many of its ideas from SWIG but, because it is specifically designed for C++ and Python, is able to generate tighter bindings. SIP is so called because it is a small SWIG.

SIP was originally designed to generate Python bindings for KDE and so has explicit support for the signal slot mechanism used by the Qt/KDE class libraries. However, SIP can be used to generate Python bindings for any C++ class library.

This software is distributed as RPM package.

Installation with rpm

This program is installable using the rpm package manager. See below for the install string. Required prerequisites are automatically processed by the package manager and, if needed, downloaded and installed.
