Questo pacchetto di driver include il supporto per OS/2 Warp 4.0 delle partizioni estese (tipo 0x0F) e le FAT (tipo 0x0E). Queste partizioni sono posizionate a cavallo del limite dei 7.8GB. Il pacchetto di driver aggiornati include anche fdisk (il gestore di dischi) ed il kernel appropriato (rev. 14.091_W4).

Questo software è distribuito come pacchetto compresso, da scaricare e installare manualmente; se ci sono prerequisiti da soddisfare, andranno anch'essi scaricati e installati manualmente.

Installazione manuale

Il programma è distribuito come pacchetto ZIP autoestrante: scaricare in una cartella temporanea e leggere il file expartw4.txt. Vedi sotto per il(i) link di download.

E' richiesto almeno il FixPak 15 (XR_M015) Build 14.062.

Those partitions are located beyond 7.8 GB limit. 1.1 The EXPARTW4.EXE file that you received contains the following 11 Extended Partition Support files in a self-extracting compressed format. - EXPARTW4.TXT This file that you are reading - W4INST.CMD - W4INST1.CMD - W4UNINST.CMD - OS2DASD.DMD - IBM1S506.ADD - FORMAT.COM - OS2DUMP - OS2KRNL - FDISK.COM - FDISKPM.EXE - FDISKPM.DLL 2.0 Extended Partition Support Support _______________________________________ 2.1 Extract Extended Partition Support files ============================================= To use these driver files, you must expand the EXPARTW4.EXE file into its 11 component files by (a.) opening an OS/2 window and (b.) changing to the temporary directory where EXPARTW4.EXE is stored and (c.) typing EXPARTW4 at the OS/2 command prompt. Once the EXPARTW4.EXE file is expanded, please continue with the Extended Partition Support Installation Instructions. 2.2 Extended Partition Support Installation Instructions ========================================================= 2.2.1 Extract files as is described in 2.1. 2.2.2 Please save following files: Drive:\os2\dll\FDISKPM.DLL Drive:\os2\boot\OS2DASD.DMD Drive:\os2\boot\IBM1S506.ADD Drive:\os2\FORMAT.COM Drive:\os2\FDISK.COM Drive:\os2\FDISKPM.EXE Drive:\OS2DUMP Drive:\OS2KRNL Where Drive is a system drive. Last two files are hidden and system. 2.2.3 At the OS/2 command prompt, type W4INST Drive Where Drive is a boot drive where this support will be installed. 2.2.4 If your PC has only Warp4 system(s) to use this support, you must replace boot manager and mbr to new ones (a.) changing to the temporary directory where EXPARTW4.EXE is stored and (b.) Run FDISK (opening an OS/2 window and typing fdisk at the OS/2 command prompt) and (c.) Remove Partition with BOOT MANAGER and (d.) Install BOOT MANAGER. (e.) Save the changes and exit 2.2.5 You must REBOOT the system. This completes the Extended Partition Support installation procedure. 2.3 Extended Partition Support Un-Install Instructions ======================================================= 2.3.1 Extract files as is described in 2.1. 2.3.2 At the OS/2 command prompt, type W4UNINST Drive Path Where Drive is a boot drive where this support will be installed. Where Path is a path of a directory where saved files are stored. 2.3.3 If your PC has only Warp4 system(s) you must replace boot manager and mbr to old ones (a.) changing to the DRIVE:\OS2 and (b.) Type FDISK and (c.) Remove Partition with BOOT MANAGER and (d.) Install BOOT MANAGER. (e.) Save the changes and exit 2.3.4 Safely shut down and then re-boot your system. 2.4 Adding the Extended Partition Support to the OS/2 Installation or Utility Diskettes for Warp4 ================================================================================================= All necessary files for these modifications are located in EXPARTW4.EXE. If there is not enough space on boot diskettes to contain the additional drivers, follow the instructions README.TXT in the root directory of your OS/2 system to make additional space. IDEDASD package from DDPak also should be applied. 2.4.1 Modifying Diskette 1 -------------------------- Add the following sequence of statements to the CONFIG.SYS file on the Diskette: SET SAVECONNECT=1 SET COPYFROMFLOPPY=1 Copy the following files to Diskette: IBM1S506.ADD OS2DASD.DMD 2.4.2 Modifying Diskette 2 -------------------------- Copy the following files to Diskette: FDISK.COM 2.5 Updating not working system =============================== 2.5.1 Prepare the installation discettes as described in 2.4. 2.5.2 Create 3rd discette. Copy following files to this discette: ibm1s506.add os2dasd.dmd os2krnl os2dump format.com fdisk.com fdiskpm.exe fdiskpm.dll W4INST1.CMD 2.5.3 Follow the instructions README.TXT in the root directory of your OS/2 installation CDROM to exit to command prompt during the installation process. 2.5.4 Type a:\fdisk.com 2.5.5 If your PC has only Warp4 system(s) you must replace boot manager and mbr to new ones (a.) Remove Partition with BOOT MANAGER and (b.) Install BOOT MANAGER. 2.5.6 Save the changes and exit. 2.5.7 Insert the diskette 3.
