Help2man is a program to create simple man pages from the --help and --version output of other programs.

This software is distributed in two modes:
  • as compressed package that you have to download and manually install; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too;
  • as RPM package; you can install it using your favorite rpm package manager, that will take care to download and install both the software and its prerequisites.
Choose the installation mode that you prefer. Please note that not all the versions are available in both the installation modes.

Installation with rpm

This program is installable using the rpm package manager. See below for the install string. Required prerequisites are automatically processed by the package manager and, if needed, downloaded and installed.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. See below for download link(s).

Following ones are the download links for manual installation:

Help2man v. 1.47.4 (23/1/2017, KO Myung-Hun)

Help2man v. 1.29 (23/2/2004) Readme/What's new
help2man v1.29 Fixed some path stuff. Bit dated version, but newer versions require gettext support in perl, which was not present in the current perl installation here. ------- As all the other builds in this collection the purpose of this package was not to take over the maintenance of an OS/2 port or compete with anyone doing that. The purpose was to build GCC, Binutils and some other tools needed to build these two projects. The builds are available because someone might hopefully find them useful and licensing requirements. Problem reports including patches are accepted, problem reports not including patches are generally unwanted as there no time to find bugs and fix them unless they break GCC/Binutils. (Sorry, but I have to be this plain about this.) Send problem reports with patches to the GCC/LIB dev mailing list, see MailingLists.os2 in the GCC docs.
